Born and raised in the Flint, Michigan area, Florence worked in Flint's automotive industry which thrived at that time. On 30 Dec 1939 at the age of 22 she married her husband Steven in Flint, Michigan. Together they had a daughter and later one son. For many years they lived in Burton (which annexed from Flint) where they raised their children. Sadly her husband died relatively young, but Florence finished caring for her children on her own. Some time after her daughter married, Florence joined her daughter's family in the Denver area where she eventually passed at age 87. She was reunited with her husband in Michigan where they continue on as the couple they had been most of their lives.
