Shirley Mae Schwindt (1928 - 2016)
Obituary

Shirley was a Colorado native born in Denver on June 4th 1928 she went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 21st. 2016. She attended North High School, grew up in North Denver. Married in 1956 to her husband of 60 years, Raymond Frederick Schwindt; they had two daughters; Rosemarie Lynn Schwindt Applegate and Kathleen Rae Schwindt Tieger, her two Son-in-laws Roger Alan Applegate and Seth Andrew Tieger; Beloved Grandchildren; Brittany Marie Singha Zamora, Grandson-in-law Aaron Michael Zamora, Ryan Mathew Applegate, Amanda Rose Applegate, Faith, Alaina Lynn Applegate, Chad Michael Tieger, and Shane Adam Tieger as well as many special friends and beloved neighbors.

Shirley loved Jesus, embodied beauty, a joyful spirit, a loving smile and a joy of life and above all, the ability to share all of it with her endless love of family and friends. She made friends quickly and welcomed everyone and soon she became a second mom, grandma, and dear friend to many, she showed love and acceptance to everyone and never a harsh word to a stranger regardless of how they treated her.

Shirley was involved in volunteer work, girl scout leader, the Community Ministry and organized the clothing and food bank for Christ Congregational Church, she had many jobs through the years but Avon was one of her favorites; enjoyed sewing, crocheting, bowling, ceramics playing card games, oil painting, caring for her home and ever growing family, house plants and flowers, playing the slot machines and traveling the world to such places as Greece, Italy and Germany, Monte Carlo and The French Riviera, she visited many of the 50 states and some of which she also lived in her younger years. Shirley always knew she wanted to settle down and live in Denver with her family and friends.

Shirley was loved by so many, and will be deeply missed but we are happy for her to be praising and joyful in the sight of the Lord. No time on earth is long enough to share with those we love or to prepare our hearts for their home going. So like she always said with a gentle kiss and a kind touch of her soft hand, "goodnight, sweet dreams, I love you and God Bless," for we know now, it is really only see you in the morning.
