Professional Boxer. Born in Constantine, Algeria, he was a French boxer who was World Bantamweight Champion from 1957 to 1959. Some of his notable opponents were Mario D'Agata (from whom he won the title), Raton "Raul" Macias, and Jose Luis Martinez. He lost the title to Joe Becerra. Halimi also held the European Bantamweight Title briefly in 1962. In 51 career bouts, Halimi won 42 (21 by knockout), lost 8 and had 1 draw.
