Singer. She is known for being part, along with her brother Jim Ed and sister Maxine, of the musical trio The Browns, who were very popular in the 1950s. She was born into a musical family and in 1955, at the age of 18, joined her older sister Maxine and brother Jim Ed to form The Browns. They were signed to a music contract by RCA Victor in 1956 and a year later, scored their biggest hit with the folk-pop single "The Three Bells", which reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop and country charts. The group would go on to make other singles like "I Take the Chance" and "I Heard the Bluebirds Sing." They joined the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee in 1965 and two years later, decided to disband. Even though her two siblings pursued a solo music career, she did not. In October of 2015, the group was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
