HOWALD John J. Howald, 98, born December 6, 1907 passed away Friday, April 14, 2006 at St. Ann's Hospital. He was an active member for 50 years with Linden Community United Methodist Church. John graduated from the Columbus Academy and attended Dartmouth College. He was an Army veteran of WWII, a member of the Masonic Lodge of the Aladdin Shrine and a Vice President for National City Bank. Survived by loving wife, Gretchen; step-daughters, Marcia (Michael) Dillon and Penny Parker; grandson, Drew Kilkenny; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donn and Ruth Keiper; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by first wife Vera. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 3-6 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006. Pastor Linda Chamberlain-Jones officiating. Entombment at Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Linden Community UMC Scholarship Fund.
