Larry was the youngest of nine children born to John Bikle and Myrtie Elizabeth (Foil) McAllister. He married Edna Frank and they were the parents of three children: Barbara Ann, Larry Bikle Jr. and Thomas Frank.

GRAHAM — Larry B. McAllister, 79, of 608 McGee St., passed away Friday, April 23, 2004, at UNC Hospitals, following an illness after years of failing health.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2004, at Macedonia Lutheran Church in Burlington. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park.
A native of Mt. Pleasant, N.C., he has resided in Graham for 51 years. He was the son of the late John Bikle McAllister and the late Myrtie Elizabeth Foil McAllister.
He received a B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1951. He was owner and manager of Wrike Drug until 1986. He worked as a staff pharmacist at Tarheel Drug 1986-1999. During his life, he served as president of Graham Merchants Assoc., board of directors Burlington Merchants Assoc., board of directors BB&T Bank, board of directors Graham Rotary Club, past president Alamance Pharmaceutical Society, past president and director of Crime Stopper, Dist. Dir. of Nat'l Federation Ind. Business, and past chairman Graham School Board. He was also a member of the N.C. Pharmaceutical Assoc., American Pharmaceutical Assoc., Alamance County Schools Adv. Comm., Governor appointed adv. comm. N.C. Prison Board, Boy Scout Troop 25 committeeman, Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, Rotary Special Achievement Award, City of Graham Board of Adjustments, a veteran of the U.S. Army Infantry World War II. He was a devoted member of the Macedonia Lutheran Church, served on Church Council, served as church property chairman, V-Pres. Men's Sunday school class, and Asst. Director of church ushers.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Frank McAllister of the home; a daughter, Barbara McAllister Turpin of Forest, Va.; sons, Larry Bikle McAllister Jr. of Spartanburg, S.C., Thomas Frank McAllister of Atlanta, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
