Born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on June 18, 1958, Don was a son of Diana (Croteau) Dubay and the late Patrick A. Dubay. He grew up in Portsmouth and was educated at Saint Patrick’s School and Portsmouth Senior High School and was employed as a bulldozer driver for the National Gypsum Plant in Portsmouth for almost thirty years. His favorite pastimes included riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, pitching horseshoes, and storytelling.
In addition to his devoted mother, Don was survived by his daughter Sarah Diana Dubay, who is currently serving as a Naval Aviation Machinist’s Mate Second Class Petty Officer (and her fiancé Daniel Trueax); five brothers and sisters — Jeannette (Dubay) Montgomery (and her husband Alexander), Alfred Dubay (and his wife Cindy), Brenda (Dubay) Dawson (and her husband William), Ronald Dubay (and his wife Mary), and Jeanne (Dubay) Harding (and her husband Timothy); eight nieces and nephews; and several grandnieces and grand- nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Alfred Dubay, who died in 1995.
Visitation hours were held at the Grondin and Sons Funeral Home in Rochester on Monday, February 17, from 4 to 6, followed by a me- morial gathering in celebration of Don’s life at the Rochester Elks Lodge from 6 to 9. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Portsmouth on Tuesday, February 18, at 11am.
