FAYETTEVILLE- Mrs. Annie Carrie Williams Cornwell, 84, of Fayetteville, departed this life on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Wesley Long Community Hospital in Greensboro. She was born on March 1, 1931, in Cleveland County, N.C., to the late Harvey and Massie Vinson Williams.

Annie was a graduate of Douglas High School in Lawndale. She was employed with Kayser Roth in Hickory, for 26 and Regal Manufacturing also in Hickory for six years. In addition she was employed with Issues from Faye in Fayetteville, for six years.

Annie was the rock and strength of her family and was always there for her husband, children and grandchildren. She gave them the strength and guidance to be what they are today. Her love for her family was as big as the universe. She always showed unconditional love, understanding, humor and grace. Annie lived a life of love and died surrounded by love. We will not just mourn Annie but, we will celebrate her love.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Cornwell Sr.; a daughter, Lisa Cornwell Campbell and two sisters, Corrine Bonner and Lillie Wray.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Linda Cornwell Whitfield (Lawayne) of Fayetteville; three sons, Fred L. Cornwell (Patricia), William D. Cornwell (Lucia) and Paul H. Cornwell all of Hickory; two sisters, Daisey Withrow of Shelby and Christine King of Hickory; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., on Saturday, at the chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel, officiated by Elder William Workman.

Burial will take place at Webb Memorial Lawns.
