Allan J. Junk, age 65, of 1731 Revere Drive, Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning, July 25, 2012 at his residence.


He was born on March 18, 1947 in Manitowoc, son of the late Andrew and Mardel (Korbol) Junk. On April 13, 1985 he married the former Jeannette Freidenberger at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Allan was employed with Pozorski Hauling in Manitowoc for over 20 years.


Survivors include his wife: Jeannette Junk, Manitowoc; two daughters and a son-in-law: Paula & Matthew Dow, Two Rivers, Melissa Junk and her fianc Eusebio Garcia, Newton; a granddaughter: Janis Pearl Dow; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Jean Crow & her special friend Mel Cameron, Shawano, Joan & Lee Meyer, Manitowoc, Janet & Dave Schnick, Egg Harbor; one sister-in-law: Linda Junk and her fianc Mike Kluczinske, Manitowoc; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Carol & Arnold Mott, Manitowoc, Emily & Cletus Rataichek, Reedsville, Harlen Freidenberger, Bellevue, Frank & Diane Freidenberger, Manitowoc, James & Shirley Freidenberger, Reedsville, Mary Jo Sturm, Manitowoc and Elaine & Charles Riederer Sr., Cato. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother: Andrew; two brothers: Raymond & Anthony; a nephew: Eric Freidenberger and his father-in-law and mother- in-law: Charles and MaryAnn Freidenberger.


Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier. Following the service, Allan will be cremated at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and he will be laid to rest at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth, at a later date.


The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2012. Friends may also call Saturday morning at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

Allan loved spending time with his granddaughter, Janis Pearl, and Sundays with his nephews, Gary and Randy. He was also a big supporter of local restaurants and convenience stores where he enjoyed his socializing. Allan will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
