RUSSEL GRALL

Russel "Buzzy" Grall age 70, of 1200 Lake Cato Drive, Reedsville, died Monday, November 11, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his wife and children.

Buzzy was born June 22, 1943 in Manitowoc, son of the late Arthur and Cora (Giese) Grall. He graduated from Valders High School with the class of 1961. On August 21, 1970 Buzzy married the former Sandra Trumbower at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Whitelaw. He lived in the Whitelaw area his entire life. He worked for Bahr Construction as an operating engineer until he bought his fathers business in 1971. Buzzy and his wife Sandra owned and operated the business as Grall's Service, providing automotive repair and towing along with full service gas. In 1983 they converted the business to a convenience store, renaming it to Whitelaw Convenience Center, and the auto repair was moved into another building and operated until 2000. He also built and rented storage units. Buzzy worked hard and played hard, he could fix or build almost anything. He was talented with concrete, plumbing and anything electrical. He was always constructing something, which friends lovingly called "Buzzy Projects". Buzzy liked skiing in his younger days at Hidden Valley where he was on the Ski Patrol. He bowled, sponsored bowling teams and played softball. He ran Las Vegas trips and organized a couple's golf league. Buzzy loved to entertain, whether it was backyard pool parties, night golf, or playing sheepshead. Buzzy loved trips with friends, especially cruises, and really enjoyed golfing with his buddies Marv, Gene, and Kenny. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church. He was a past member of the Amoco Dealer Advisory Council, Manitowoc Business Association and Manitowoc Elks Club. Buzzy was also a past president and member of the Whitelaw Lions Club.
