Donna M. Becker, age 84, of 200 Clark St., Manitowoc, was called home to eternal peace on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011.
She was born on Feb. 28, 1926, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late William and Gertrude M. (Meyer) Heideman Sr. Donna Mae graduated with the
class of 1944 from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc. On Sept. 20, 1947, she married Lawrence P. Becker, Sr. at First German Evangelical Lutheran
church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1969. Donna worked as a carhop at the old Penquin Drive-In on Calumet Avenue in
Manitowoc for eight years. She was also a bartender fro 25 years at Bud's Bar, Chewy's Bar, Tony's Welcome Inn and the Manitowoc Eagles Club
Aerie No. 706, all in Manitowoc. She made many, many friends all of the years she spent as a carhop and a bartender. Donna was a member of the
Manitowoc Eagle's Women's Auxiliary Aerie No. 706.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law: Virginia (Larry) Zimmerman, Surging, Wis., JoAnn (Bill) Niquette, Two Rivers, Cindy (Keith) Diebel,
Sudbury, Canady, and Lisa (Joel) Hernandex, Manitowoc; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Daniel (Peggy) Becker, Lawrence P. Becker, Jr. (Peter), all of Manitowoc. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Jenny (George) Mays, Malinda (Jason) Trimberger, Greg (Tanya) Qualman, Josh (fiance Michelle Valdez) Qualman, Brad Beckeer, Melody Becker-Paul, Angela Diebel, Andrea Diebel, Travis Spangeberg, Erik Hernandez and Kaylene Hernandez. She is further survived by nine great grandchildren: Taylor Qualman and his fiance Marsha Granger, Isabella Qualman, Savannah Qualman, Quest Mays, Mikenna Qualman, Deirdra Burnette, Cameron Becker and Emily Bona. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Donna Mae was preceded in death by her husband; her stepfather: Albert Wellner; a son: Michael L. Becker; a granddaughter: Michelle Jolin; two nephews: Tommy Archambeault and Larry Pieschel; three brothers: Kenneth (Shirley) Heideman, William Heideman Jr., Robert Heideman; and a sister: June Pieschel-Archambeault.
Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and burial of her cremated remains will take place at Knollwood Memorial
Gardens at a later date.
There will be a celebration of Donna's life at 3 p.m. Sunday , Jan. 30, 2011, at the Manitowoc Eagles club Aerie No. 796, 823 Hamilton St., Manitowoc.
