Carl James Gohr passed away at his home on August 15, 2016.

He was born to Emil and Frieda (Quiram) Gohr on February 29, 1940 in Monte Vista, Colorado. The youngest of a large family, he grew up surrounded by his siblings and parents, with stories to tell about lightning strikes and polio and dunks in the horse trough. He graduated from CSU with a degree in Agriculture and while farming in Idaho, met and married Eunice Ann Collins in 1968.

They had two children, Ruth Ann and Mark, and moved to Brighton, Colorado in 1979. Carl loved to sing in the choir at Zion Lutheran Church, garden, and practice being a "shade tree mechanic." He faithfully cared for his wife, Eunice, until her death in 2013 and since then has been a wonderful father to his children and "Papa" to his granddaughter.

Carl is preceded in death by his wife and seven siblings. He is survived by his son, Mark, daughter Ruth Ann (DeCrescentis), son-in-law, Joseph DeCrescentis, granddaughter, Emma, five sisters, and countless nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, August 23, at 11:00 am, at Zion Lutheran Church. Graveside services to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Brighton, Colorado.
