American Musician. Hubbard, a bass player since the age of 14, was a member of the platinum selling, multi-Grammy award nominated band, The Fabulous Thunderbirds from 1984 through 1994, recording on five of their albums including "Tuff Enuff". Prior to that, he was with Roomful of Blues, also Grammy nominated and the prototype first backup band for The Blues Brothers. He was also known for his work in the blues community with Bonnie Raitt, The Vaughan Brothers, Duke Robillard, Etta James, Professor Longhair and The Blues Brothers, recording on Raitt's platinum-selling "Nick of Time", Stevie Ray Vaughan's final record while alive "Family Style" with brother Jimmie, Big Joe Turner's final record "Kansas City, Here I Come", Toni Price's "Swim Away", Duke Robillard's "Swing Time", and a host of others. After leaving the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Hubbard descended into a world of drugs, dealing, arrests, and finally jail. Although sober and clean for 18 years, in 2014 he was admitted to a hospital in St. Louis, near death, his body severely affected by almost 20 years of hard living and taking drugs.
