SERVICES FOR MRS. SOPHIE NEUMANN TO BE WEDNESDAY
Mrs. Sophie Neumann, 90, 600 North State street, died at 7 o'clock this morning in Holy Cross hospital after an illness of one day.
The deceased was born February 13, 1870, in Milwaukee to Carl and Pauline Gehrt Degner. She was married to Charles Neumann October 17, 1896, in Athens. He passed away October 6, 1945. She was a member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ.
Surviving are one son, Erwin Neumann, Clark Summit, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Habeck and Mrs. Alvina Kundert, both of Athens, 12 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Hilda Bettin, one son, Arthur Neumann; 4 brothers, Albert, Herman, Otto and William, and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Von Huff and Mrs. Helen Lemanski.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, with the Rev. C. P. Fischer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the Taylor funeral home from noon on Tuesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday when Mrs. Neumann will be taken to the church to lie in state from 11 a.m. until the hour of services.

According to records, this is the only Neumann to be found in Block M suggesting this must be Charles and Sophie.
