Actress. She was the former American beauty queen and model, who will best be remembered for being the second wife of legendary entertainer Dean Martin. Born Dorothy Jean Biegger, she began modeling in Miami and was voted Orange Bowl queen in 1947. The following year, she went to the Beachcomber Club in Miami to see a New Year's Eve show starring Martin and Jerry Lewis. A week after Martin was granted a divorce from first wife Betty McDonald, she and Martin wed on September 1, 1949, in Beverly Hills with Lewis serving as best man. During their 20-year marriage, she would make several appearances on television shows such as "The Dean Martin Show" and "I Love Lucy." The couple would have three children together, Dean Paul, Ricci and Gina, before parting ways in December of 1969. She died from complications of cancer at her Beverly Hills home, just three weeks after the death of her son, Ricci.
