Jim Pittman was the head football coach at Tulane University (1966-1970) and at Texas Christian University (1971). He died on the sidelines after suffering a heart attack shortly after the kickoff of an away game at Baylor university. The players were informed at halftime and decided to honor Coach Pittman's memory by finishing the game. TCU rallied to win 34-27.
