Maddison Mae “Maddie” Weaver, 5 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016 at her home in Oxford, following a courageous battle with cancer. Maddie was born June 14, 2011 at Holdrege, Nebraska, the youngest of three daughters born to Bucky Joe and Wendy Lee (Foster) Weaver. Maddie was baptized in Holdrege. She began her education at Southern Valley Elementary, where she was currently a Kindergarten student who loved the interaction with her fellow classmates. Maddie’s giving personality was to be admired and she was always full of laughter and energy. She was all girl, who loved to be a Princess. She loved to play with her step-sister and pretend that they were Princess Elsa and Princess Anna from the movie, Frozen. Her favorite song was “Little Red Wagon” by Miranda Lambert. High heels were her trademark shoe, especially those Princess high heels that were her favorite. Her smile and sparkling blue eyes could melt any heart with one look.

On June 24, 2016 she was diagnosed with a cancer on her brain stem. Her family and friends were amazed by her will to live and courage that she showed throughout her fight. Maddie had the time of her life a month ago, when she was blessed by Make-A-Wish with her dream vacation to Disney World in Florida, where she stayed at “Give Kids The World Village” with her family. A highlight of her trip was meeting all the characters from Frozen.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents. Maddie leaves to celebrate and treasure her life; her parents: Bucky Weaver and his wife, Sarah and Wendy Wilson and her husband, John Wilson Jr. all of Oxford; her siblings: Morgan and Megan Weaver, Avalyn Weaver, and John and Josie Wilson; grandparents: Larry and Cindy Weaver of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Mae Ellis of Holbrook, Nebraska; Dale and Wanda Foster of Oxford; Aaron and Jennifer Wescott of Holdrege; and John and Deb Wilson of Holdrege; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
