Jun. 29 ,1947 - Aug. 31, 2016 Stephen Davis, 69, of Cropwell, AL, went home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2016. Visitation will be 12:30 pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Johns-Ridout's Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel. Funeral Service following at 2:00pm in the Chapel. Steve was born in Bessemer, the son of John L and Margaret Blake Davis on June 29, 1947. He graduated from Bessemer High School in 1965. He received his engineering degree from the University of Alabama, his MBA from UAB. He worked at ACIPCO, Vulcan Engineering, Rust International, CB&I, and EC&S. He served on the Department of Mechanical Engineering External Advisory Board at the University of Alabama. He loved the Lord, spending time with his family, restoring old cars, and was a lifelong model railroader. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; his brother, John Davis; his sister, Doris Davis Pearson.Steve is survived by his loving wife Susan; his 3 children Donna Davis Willett (Ken), Keron Davis Fitts (David), and Robert Davis (Stephanie); grandchildren, Ryan and Lindsay Willett; Joshua, Blake, Lauren, Hannah, and Natalie Fitts; Austin, Patrick, John, and Cameron Davis. His sisters Kay Davis Justice and Becky Davis Harmon; Sister-in-law, Yondel Davis; Brother's-in-law, Jerry Pearson, Comer Justice and Lawrence Cater; and many nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to New Tribes Mission and Pacific Garden Mission.
