5 Dec 2006: Eugene G. Spangler, Sr., 91, entered into rest Sunday, December 3, 2006, at 5:55 p.m. at his residence. He was the husband of Edith M. (Baublitz) Spangler, who entered into rest July 16, 1996. He was born in York June 10, 1915, and was the son of the late Lattimer E. and Alma (Spangler) Spangler. He was a retired security guard at Duplex in Emigsville and teamster truck driver for various companies in the York area. He was also a WWII Army Veteran. Mr. Spangler is survived by daughters Helen Barnes of Mt. Wolf, Barbara L. Spangler of York, and Marie M. Stough and her husband, Richard of Manchester; sons Raymond L. Spangler, Sr. and his wife, Barbara of Mt. Wolf, William F. Spangler, Sr., and his wife, Shelba of York, Eugene G. Spangler, Jr., of York, Dale B. Spangler, Sr., and his wife, Myung of Junction City, KS, and Edward O. Spangler, Sr., and his wife, Roxanne of Dover; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and sister Dawn Kline of Dallastown. He was preceded in death by son Robert Spangler; granddaughter Wendy Williams; two brothers; and two sisters. Funeral Thursday at Burg Funeral Home, Red Lion, Rev. Curtis R. Weber, pastor of St. John's Blymire UCC in Dallastown, officiating. Burial in Mount Rose Cemetery. [York Daily Record]
