Rosalie N. “Rosie” (Yoder) Cornwell, 77, of Kittanning entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, at Kittanning Care Center.

She was born on May 1, 1939, in Findlay, Ohio to Richard and Lois (Slee) Yoder.

She resided in the area for the past 35 years.

Rosalie previously worked for Brody’s Clothing store in Kittanning.

She was a member of Grace Brethren Church in West Kittanning.

She loved knitting, cross stitch, playing the piano, and reading.

Rose was a dedicated wife and mother and servant of God. She served in children’s ministry and strongly stood by her husband as a Pastor’s wife, helping others on a daily basis. She remained active even after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Through years of fighting this debilitating disease she remained strong and positive.

Survivors include daughter, Melody Hooks and husband, John Jr., of Kittanning; son, Mark Cornwell and wife, Anne, of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren, John Hooks III and wife, Breannan, Nathanael Hooks and wife, Emily,

Matthew Cornwell, Lindsay Szewczyk and husband, Brendan, Samantha Hagan and husband, Mark, Patrick Daly, and Alexandra Walsh; great-grandchild, Bentley Hooks; and brothers, David Yoder and wife, Lois, of Tennessee and Dale Yoder of Findlay.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, the Rev. Richard H. Cornwell, who passed away on May 22, 2011; sister, Katie Montgomery; and four brothers, Bill, Jim, Harold, and Don Yoder.

Friends will be received Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Snyder Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the Grace Brethren Church in West Kittanning, with additional visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service with the Rev. Larry Edwards, her church pastor, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The National MS Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, N.Y. 10163.
