Bernita I. Cornwell, 93, of East Leroy, died September 30, 2016 at Bickford Assisted Living in Battle Creek.
She was born August 10, 1923, the daughter of Carl and Ola (Olmstead) Spaulding in Barry County, Assyria Township, Michigan.
After serving in the Red Cross she was a bookkeeper and retired from Bellevue School System.
Bernita is survived by her 2 sons, 7 grandchildren,15 great children; and sister Carol (Don) Willis of Bellevue. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Sylvester "Vet" Cornwell; and sister, Marion Roggow.
Bernita enjoyed needlework, dancing, traveling and her grandchildren.
