Thomas D. Coltman, age 93, of Wayne Township, Ohio, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. He was born June 15, 1923, in Mantua, Ohio, a son of John B. and Clara C. (Dobson) Coltman. Formery of Gustavus, Ohio, Mr. Coltman married Roxie P. Briggs on Jan. 17, 1943. He and his wife wintered for 28 years in North Fort Myers, Fla.; and together they owned and operated a dairy farm in Wayne for many years. He attended the First United Methodist Church of Andover; was a member of the Laker Ruritan Club, the Ashtabula County Farm Bureau; the Soil Conservation Club and COBA. He served as a Wayne Township trustee for over 20 years. Mr. Coltman had a love of playing the fiddle and was a "Happy Volunteers" in Kinsman and played for area nursing homes. He had a love of music and enjoyed his farming. Mr. Coltman is survived by a daughter, RoxieAnn (Frank) Rossiter of Hiram, Ohio; two sons, Thomas L. Coltman Sr. of Andover, Ohio and Kenneth R. (June) Coltman of Wayne Township; daughter-in-law, Sandra Coltman of Wayne Township; six grandchildren, Tom L. (Donna) Coltman Jr. of Wayne Township, Russ (Kenna) Coltman of Conneuat, Ohio, Suzanne (Brian) Theobald of Trenton, Ohio, Kim (Brian) Stark of Edgerton, Ohio, Brandy (Jason) Collings of Wayne Township, and Janet Rossiter of Indianapolis, Ind.; 17 great-grandchildren, Jessica (Ben) Kocab of Kinsman, Tim Coltman of Wayne Township, Joshua Coltman of Columbus, Ohio, Jonathon and Elizabeth Coltman, both of Wayne Township, Bennett, Elizana, Caleb, Ethan, and Quin Coltman, all of Conneaut, Ohio, Cassie, Alanna, and Brooks Theobald, all of Trenton, Ohio, Holly, Evan, and Brayden Stark, all of Edgerton, Ohio, and Hunter Collings of Wayne Township; two great-great-grandchildren, Vanessa and Abagail Kocab of Kinsman; and his friend and travel companion, Roberta Hill of Andover. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of seventy-one years, Roxie P. Coltman on March 11, 2014; and two brothers, John and Ralph Coltman. A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 8th, at BAUMGARDNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio. Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery, Wayne Township, Ohio.
