Curtis died at 9 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 1986 in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Amarillo after a lengthy illness.

He was born "William Curtis Truman Green" in Savage, TX and had lived in the Crosby County area all of his life. He married Oneida Crump on Jan. 20, 1942, in Crosbyton. He was a custom combiner. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II and was a member of the VFW. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Services were held November 21, 1986 in the First Baptist Church. Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, a son, two brothers, three sisters, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. One daughter preceded him in death.
