Col. Benjamin Harrison, son of Capt. Daniel Harrison of Rockingham County Virginia was born in Augusta County Virginia in 1741. In 1774 he commanded a company at Point Pleasant, and in 1775 he was appointed Captain of a company of minute men. He was a member of the Augusta County Court Martial in 1779 and took the oath as Lt. Col. of the Militia on April 1, 1780. He was in McIntosh's campaign in 1777 in the Revolutionary War until the surrender Yorktown, He in Rockingham County, Virginia in 1819.
