KILLED HIMSELF WHEN
TEASED BY COMPANIONS

Fuller Holladay Made Afraid by
His Fellow Workers and He
Drank Carbolic Acid.

FUNERAL WILL BE TODAY

Fuller Hollady, son of David Hollady, drank carbolic acid, ending his own life yesterday afternoon at the family residence, 404 Lexington avenue. The suicide occurred at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon, death resulting in a very short time following the imbibing of the acid. The only explanation offered by the members of the family for the act was despondency resulting from teasing to which he had been subjected by fellow employees of the South Atlantic Lumber company.
The young man was 23 years of age, and it was state that he was not mentally bright. It was said that the other men with whom he worked took advantage of his readiness to believe what was told him, to convince him that a charge would be made against him because of an accident to machinery where he worked. He was made to believe that he faced arrest for this pretended responsibility, it was stated, and the theory offered was that his fear had worked upon the mind of the man creating the suicidal despondency.
Yesterday morning, so full of dislike of his companions teasing had he become that he did not want to return to his work. He voiced this objection and his father told him not to go if her preferred staying at home. He accepted this advice and followed it, but in the middle of the afternoon he went to his room, swallowed the carbolic acid and was found there in a dying condition. Physicians were summoned but nothing could be done, as the dosage was heavy. The usual terrible suffering incidental to death by carbolic acid was said to have been absent in this case.
The funeral of the young man will be held at the old home of the family, near Liberty. The body will be carried to Liberty on the 12:45 o'clock train today and the services will end at the Mount Zion church.
