Married Charles H. Spain, as his 2nd wife, on 17 October 1858 at the First Presbyterian Church of Kensington, Kensington, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They had 2 children; Mary Emma and Mary Ann. Mary Emma died very young and was originally buried at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Philadelphia. In 1871, she was removed and buried at Mount Peace Cemetery to be with the rest of the family.
At the death of her sister, Emma C. (Faunce) Cordery in 1890, Mary and her step-daughter, Helen, were left bequests:
"First-I give to my sister Mary Spain, of Germantown the sum of Seven Hundred and Fifty (750) Dollars."
"Fifth-I give to Helen Spain, of Germantown the sum of Five Hundred (500) Dollars."
SPAIN. On March 13, 1896, Mary, wife of Charles H. Spain. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, 10 a.m., from her late residence, 2243 Hunting Park avenue. Interment private, at Mt. Peace Cemetery.
