Daughter of Charles H and Amanda (nee Wilson) Spain. Sister of Hannah C Spain, half sister of Mary Emma and Mary Spain.

Never married. Never worked. After the death of her mother, Amanda, on 20 December 1854 of consumption, Charles married Mary Faunce. Mary died in 1896 and Charles passed in 1905. Helen then lived with her sisters, Hannah and Mary Ann for the rest of her life.

In 1890, at the death of her step mother's sister, Emma C (Faunce) Cordery, Helen was mentioned in the will, which states;
"Fifth-I give to Helen Spain, of Germantown the sum of Five Hundred (500) Dollars." Not sure why Helen was the only sister to receive a bequest, especially since she was not actually a blood relative.
