US Congressman. A member of the Republican Party, he served the State of Louisiana's 8th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives from 1987 until 1993. His father was an electrician, Clyde studied at the National Aeronautics School, prior to his association with the horticultural industry. He would go on to establish his own successful nursery business. Influenced by Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater and President Ronald Reagan, Holloway entered the political arena. During his tenure in Congress, he was a firm believed in the Conservative philosophy. He was opposed to abortion rights and was a strong supporter of prayer in schools. After yielding his congressional seat, he ran several unsuccessful bids to return to Washington. He remained in public service and served as Louisiana Public Service from 2009 until his death.
