Lydia Matthews 90, of Lincoln, passed away November 13, 2015. Born August 4, 1925 in Lincoln, NE to John and Katie Gies. Homemaker. After high school worked for Elgin Watch Co. for many years. Member of First United Methodist Church, former member of Faith United Methodist Church. Lydia enjoyed cooking, baking, and antiquing. She also enjoyed listening to music, being around people and visiting with friends and family.
Family members include daughters, Rhonda (Russ) Blank, Gayle Grace; granddaughter, Sarah Grace; and several other loving relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents; husband Jack; brothers Johnny and Robert Gies; sisters Marie Richardson and Maxine Hadsell.
