Actress, Author. Born Kathryn Elizabeth Hohn, her father was the pastor of her family's local church. After high school, she entered and earned a trip to California from a contest called "Get Away to Hollywood." This led to her motion picture debut as she was cast in the Ginger Rogers' film "Fifth Avenue Girl" (1939). During that same year (1939), she appeared in the classic picture "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and would go on to experience a wide range of genres including comedies, westerns and thrillers. She will perhaps be remembered for playing the role of 'the young mother' in the classic Alfred Hitchcock film "Saboteur" (1942). In 1942, she married actor Hugh Beaumont (divorced in 1974) who was best known for playing 'Ward Cleaver' in the TV series "Leave it to Beaver." The couple starred in the picture "Blonde for a Day" (1946). Kathryn retired from acting and raised her family, in addition to earning a Master's degree in Educational Psychology. She would go on to become a practicing psychologist. After remarrying, she was known as Kathryn Adams Doty and focussed on writing. As a result, she penned the fictional novels "A Long Year Silence" (2004) and "Wild Orphan" (2006). Her autobiography "Becoming the Mother of Me: A Memoir" was published in 2009.
