DORA WHITESELL
DEAD AT AGE 82
Dora B. Whitesell, who was 82 August 30, enjoyed working with flowers, and could always make them grow.
For about 10 years she worked for Baur-Steinkamp Co., florist, where she helped cultivate flowers.
Mrs. Whitesell died yesterday afternoon at Witham Hospital, Lebanon. Her home was at 395 N. 5th, Zionsville.
Born near Fishers, Mrs. Whitesell was one of seven children of Mr. and Mrs. John P.(T) Moose, farmers. For a brief time she lived in the Broad Ripple area of Indianapolis, but spent most of her life in her home on old Michigan Road, moving to Zionsville about nine years ago.
Her husband, Jacob Whitesell, a farmer, died in 1949. They had observed their golden wedding anniversary. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Zionsville and the Women's Society of Christian Service. At one time Mrs. Whitesell collected antique china.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Flanner & Buchanan Phillippi Mortuary at Zionsville with burial in Union Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors are a son, Gaylord D. Whitesell, Indianapolis; two sister, Rebecca Kingery and Alice Manship, Fishers and a grandson.
