Lola Mae Bowman Callaway Monroe Portenier, 83, died Saturday, Oct. 22 in Lincoln, Neb.

Mrs. Portenier was born March 2, 1922, in Norcatur, the daughter of Jesse and Lizzie E. Bowman. She was a member of the Piedmont Park Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lincoln and a member of Ladies Auxiliary No. 12 and the Lancaster Manor Bell Choir.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce A. Callaway; three husbands, Fred Callaway, Roy R. Monroe and Sam Portenier; her parents; three bothers; a sister; and three granddaughters.

She is survived by three sons, Donald L. Callaway, Topeka; Franklin A. Callaway, Pratt; and Steven A. Monroe, Sioux City, Iowa; four daughters, Maxine White, Gerring, Neb.; Lola Marie Schwerin, Surprise, Neb.; and Betty Tendrich and Ruth Shotsman, Lincoln; a brother, Jay A. Bowman, Hutchinson; 31 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held today from noon until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
