Daughter of Lillie Odom and Albert P. Stanton. She married George T. Chafin in 1938 and they had three known children.

Her obituary in the Greensboro News & Record, August 7, 1994, was extremely terse:

HIGH POINT - Mrs. Edna S. Chafin, 71, of High Point died Friday, August 5, 1994.
Funeral will be at 3:30 today at Cumby Eastchester Drive Chapel.
