Ensign Randolph was the pilot of a F9F-2B Panther Jet fighter with Fighter Squadron 23 aboard the carrier USS PRINCETON (CV-37). On June 5, 1951, as he landed on the flight deck, his aircraft crashed into the after end of the deck, burned and exploded killing him and two crewmen. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
