Floyd ”Bucky” Frank Suennen, 77, of Wausaukee, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Aurora Medical Center in Green Bay. He was born August 29, 1939, in Marinette, Wis. to Frank and Genevieve (Dennis) Suennen. Bucky attended Goll Elementary School in Wagner and graduated from Wausaukee High School. A lifetime resident of the Town of Wagner, Bucky worked in the logging industry most of his life; working for Walter Mueller; Charles Suennen; and Carl Schroeder Jr. He was a hard worker and put in long days; many times working into darkness. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting ducks, geese, partridge, and deer; walking through the woods, and gardening. His favorite garden item was potatoes with most years harvesting over 1,000 pounds. He enjoyed playing baseball for Wausaukee High School and for the Mc Allister Hunters and listening to many games of the Milwaukee Braves and later the Milwaukee Brewers on the radio. He had a vivid knowledge of the game of baseball and statistics of the Milwaukee Braves. He loved to read any book on baseball and the entire daily newspaper. He was always up on current events and could hold a conversation about anything as his knowledge always left you amazed. He had an amazing sense of humor and enjoyed telling stories about hunting and logging and knew most of the logging that took place on Bronnenberg road going back to the late 1940’s. Floyd is survived by his mother, Genevieve of Wausaukee; three brothers: Leroy and Franklin of Wausaukee, and Rodney (Priscilla) of East Greenwich, Rhode Island; one sister, Renee Woodward of Wausaukee; three nephews: Ryan Suennen and William Woodward of Wausaukee and Mark Suennen of New Hampshire; and a niece, Diane (James) and daughter, Holly Flanagan of Cheltenham, Australia. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Suennen, a brother-in-law, Art Woodward, and a sister-in-law, Anita Suennen. Floyd will be sadly missed by all who knew him; especially his family; who enjoyed visiting and listening to his stories and insights. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 23rd from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Thielen Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. with Deacon Jerome Thetreau officiating. Burial will be in St. Edward’s Cemetery. (Marinette-Menominee Eagle Herald, November 22, 2016)
