Edward Dewey Carter, was born December 13, 1938, in Columbus, Ohio to Newman E. King and Lucille Reed Carter. At 70, "Boots", as known to many, went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2009 in Columbus, Ohio.

Retired after 39 years of service with WE/AT&T/Alcatel Lucent Technologies. A longtime member of Christ Memorial Baptist Church, where he accepted Christ.

Preceded in death by loving wife of forty years, Mary Louise (Simpson) Carter and sister Frances Johnson.

Edward leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters, Theresa, Tylene, Tracy (Larry) Carter; grandson, Levon Carter; granddaughter, Tylene (Delphonso) Fox; four great-grandsons, Anthony Carter, Gabriel James Carter, Shamar Haynes and Delphonso Fox, Jr.; brother, George (Mildred) King; brother-in-law, Clarence Hairston; cousin, Minnie Reed; many other cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
