Carrie (as she was known to family) was born in West Plains, MO, the daughter of Henry Bernard and Sarah Elizabeth Gilliam Stein. On Dec. 3, 1912 she married Arthur Dewitt Bennett, son of Silas Micajah and Arie Ann Williams Bennett. They had three children, Dessie, Dorothy, and Arthur, Jr. Around 1930 they moved to Denver, CO, and lived in that area until their deaths. She was my grand-aunt, and had the most beautiful, soft white hair.

She is buried with her husband.
