Jesse "Mack" Rowlett was born on January 11, 1877 in Franklin County, Tennessee, the son of Thomas W Rowlett (ca 1853- ) and Milly R J (Bicknell) Rowlett (ca 1854- ). [Although his Death Certificate, has his birth year as 1878, according to his September 1918 World War I Draft Registration Card, Mack listed his year of birth as 1876. In 1918 Mack was a carpenter for the Nashville Chattanooga & Saint Louis Railroad Shops in Nashville.]

He was married on January 12, 1903 in Franklin, Tennessee to Mary R (Henson) Rowlett (1887-1936), the daughter of Franklin Deakins "Frank" Henson (1855–1901) and Margaret Isabel "Maggie" (Rogers) Henson (1852–1918).

Still a carpenter at the railroad shops and living at 304 33rd Avenue North, Nashville, Mack was 72 years old and a widower when he died suddenly at home of a possible heart attack on April 17, 1950. Burial was two days later in Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville.
