Daughter of Abraham and Magdalena (Marks) Singer. Second wife of David Hershberger. Mother of Joseph W, John and Abraham Hershberger, Sarah Shonk, Isabella Mains and Irene Piatt. Stepmother of William Hershberger, Emma Mains and Margaret McClougham.

An Esteemed Lady Passed to her Reward

Yesterday afternoon occurred the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Hershberger, at her residence on Downing street. She had been in impaired health for several months and her death was due to general debility. Mrs. Hershberger has lived in Plymouth for many years and is widely known. She was a member of the M.E. church and was a devout christian and was loved and respected by all classes of people, and in her demise this town loses one of its most estimable ladies. Deceased was 83 years of age of which a greater portion was spent here in this town. The following children survive her: William I., of Dorrancetown, J.H., of Wilkes-Barre, Joseph W., of this town, Abram H. of Dorrancetown, and Mrs. Robert Mains, also of this town. The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon, with services at her late home, at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Dr. J. Benninger of the First Methodist Episcopal church. Interment will be in Shawnee cemetery.

Laid at Rest - Many people, residents from all over the valley, and the many people from this town who were all friends and relatives of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Hershberger, turned out yesterday afternoon to pay their last tribute to the respected old lady made one of the largest funerals seem in Plymouth in some time. Services were conducted at the home of her son, Joseph W., on Gaylord avenue, at 2 o'clock, by the Rev. Dr. J.J. Benninger, pastor of the First M.E. church, Floral offerings were numerous and were carried by two grandchildren, , Marvin Hershberger and Henry Piatt. The pallbearers were also grandchildren - Harry Mains, Frank and Harry Hershberger, Edward, John and William Shonk. Interment was in Shawnee cemetery.
