Obituaries for June 18

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Lionel Maynard Chase the Bear-Long Fox, 63, Albuquerque and formerly of South Dakota, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at his home.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1960.

Survivors include his wife, Rosalind, Albuquerque; one son, Duane, Phoenix; four grandchildren; one brother, Ellsworth Chase the Bear-Long Fox, Ada, Okla.; four sisters, Ethel Long Fox and Marlene Long Fox, both of Pierre, S.D., Elvera Driving Hawk, Kennebec, S.D., and Martha Cozad, Lawton, Okla.; and sisters in the New Mexico and Arizona area.

Prayer services will be at 9 a.m. today at French's Funeral Home in Albuquerque. Burial will follow at the veterans cemetery in Santa Fe. Memorial services will be in early July at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Fort Pierre, S.D.

Condolences may be sent to his family in care of Rosalind Chase (the Bear), 8441 Hilton Ave., Albuquerque, NM 87111.
