Born in Swain Co., she was the daughter of Avery Greene and Nellie Slagle Greene.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her first husband Daniel Gerald Mason and one brother, Sevear Greene.
Leona was previously a member of the American Daylilies Society and the Western Carolina Dahlia Society.
She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and attended Trinity Assembly of God.
Burial: Full Gospel Prayer House Cemetery.
