STREATOR — Josephine A. Schneider, 87, of Streator, passed away Wednesday, June 25, at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, with the Rev. Jacob Rose officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Josephine was born July 20, 1926, in Streator, the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Wargo) Gaydos. She married Warren R. "Pete" Schneider Sept. 10, 1945. Warren "Pete" survives in Streator.
Also surviving are two sons, Warren R. (Paula) Schneider Jr., of Geneseo and John A. (Susan) Schneider, of Rock Island; grandchildren, Robert, Eric, Jack, Adam and Blake Schneider, Jill Kimble and Erin Zerull; great-grandchildren, Hayden and Gabriel Schneider, Anna and Lauren Kimble, Zoey and Gracie Sue Zerull and Eleanor Schneider.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Emma Conley, Mary Yednock and Irene Yurick; brother, John Gaydos; and a great-granddaughter, Sloane Schneider, in infancy.
Born and raised in Streator, she attended St. Stephen's Grade School and Streator Township High School.
Josephine worked for JC Penney and JoAnn's Women's Apparel for many years.
She was a former member of St. Stephen's Church and a current member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish Church.
