Mary was the daughter of Louisa Catherine Bailey and James Day. She married James A. "Bluford" Burnett on December 17, 1874, and they were the parents of Laura, Sally, Edward, Lillian and Geneva. James was the son of James Burnett and Julia A. "Polly" Bailey.
