Born to Charley and Lydia Campbell, he grew up in Christian County, Missouri. His was a loving family that liked to sing and play music when they got together. He played the guitar. He married Wilda Meese and they had four children, Charles Allen, Rosella, Velva Ann and Flossie Maxine. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Allen, his parents, one sister Velma and two brothers, Laymond and Roy "T".
He was survived by his wife and three daughters, two sons-in-law, Gerallee Fowler and Charley Whitlow; sisters Zella Loveland and Charlene Cave and one brother Blond; grandchildren, Jerry, Gene and Ronnie Fowler; Clayton and Christy Whitlow; Rhonda, Larry and Belle Kincannon and Chuck Campbell.
