Jens S. Hermo was born in Trondheim, Norway, July 8, 1883. There he grew up, attended common school and high school, and also Hauges Minderkole, a theological college. He also attended business college in Norway.
In 1905 he was married to Lovna Windseth. In 1909 they came to America, coming to Grand Forks, North Dakota and in 1919 to Kalispell, where they have lived since.
Mr. Hermo died very suddenly at his home here, July 17, 1939. He is survived by his widow and his only daughter Miss Borghild Hermo, who teaches at Christobel, Panama Canal Zone.
Mr. Hermo and family have always been faithful, active members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of this city. He was a quiet, unassuming man with high and spiritual ideals, an exemplary citizen, honorable and reliable in all that he did, and loved and respected by all who knew him. He had a methodical and scholarly mind, knew well the history and literature of his native land and of his adopted land. He was well-versed in his Bible, knowing great portions of it by memory. He leaves a host of friends to mourn his loss.
