David J. Scroggins, 82, of Aurora, passed away Friday, January 26, 2007 at his home. He was born July 30, 1924 in Aurora.

Mr. Scroggins was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the China, India-Burma Offensive. He was employed at Kroehler Furniture Manufacturers in Naperville for 38 years. It was there he met his wife, Darlene, in 1945, and married her on June 27, 1947. He also worked for Naperville School District for almost 10 years. Mr. Scroggins was a member of St. Theresa Church and the V.F.W. Post #7452 in Montgomery.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Darlene (nee Ries) Scroggins; his son, Terry (Karen) Scroggins of Aurora; his daughter, Kathy (Johnnie) Hood of Aurora; three grandchildren, Shane (Lisa) Scroggins of Montgomery, Eric (Sharie) Scroggins of Aurora and Bridget (Barry) Worby of Serena, IL; five great-grandchildren, Connor, Taran, McKayla and Kyler Scroggins and Riley Worby; his sister, JoAnn (David) Pombert of Lady Lake, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, David Gilliam; his parents, David and Caroline (nee Schuck) Scroggins; three brothers, Jack, Fred and Tom Scroggins; and two sisters, Betty Schomer and Violat Alexander.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2007 from The Daleiden Mortuary at 9:30 AM to St. Theresa Church at 10AM. Fr. Michael Miller, M.S.C. will officiate with interment in Lincoln Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 30 from 2-8PM with a Liturgical Wake Service at 5PM, at The Daleiden Mortuary, 220 N.
