Funeral services for Faye T. Elkin, age 80, will be held Saturday February 3, 2007 at 10:00 am at Gill First National Funeral Home with Rev. Marion Collier officiating. Internment will be in Myrtle Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2007 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Gill First National Funeral Home Sanctuary.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Orville Elkin; parents, Hollis W. Tarver and Ruby Ann Tarver; two brothers, Ellis and John Tarver; one sister Eleanor T. Marionneaux.

Faye is survived by one son, David Elkin and wife, Diane of Lafayette, Louisiana; two granddaughters, Jessica Schexnayder and Amy Christoph of Lafayette, Louisiana; five great grand children of Lafayette, Louisiana, two sisters, Audrey Joiner of Monroe, Louisiana, and Bettye McKemie of Mobile, Alabama, and many other relatives and a host of friends.

Faye started to work in the Franklin Parish Clerk of Courts office in 1961. She was elected Clerk of Court in 1984 and served 16 years until she retired in 2000. She never met a stranger and was a true public servant for the people of Franklin Parish. She later moved to Lafayette, Louisiana to be closer to her son and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Jay Busby, Thurman Dickey, Roger Elkin, James McLemore, Randy Shirley, and A. A. "Skipper" Wollerson. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernest "Bubba" Baccarini, J.W. Dean, and Tab Singer.
