Maxine Randolph, age 87, of Marion passed away early Wednesday evening at Marion Manor Nursing Center. Born in Marengo on August 4, 1919 to McNulta and Verda Mae (Howard) Ralston, she married Harold E. Randolph on June 18, 1939 who preceded her in death as did her son; Paul, 3 brothers; Virgil, Harold and Vearl and her sister; Edna Welch.

Maxine, along with her husband owned Randolph's Market during the 1950's. She also did secretarial work for Plastic Film Company, NaChurs Plant Food, Fulfillment Corporation and Bill Davis Heating over the years. After that, she followed in her husband's foot-steps becoming a real estate agent and working at Joe Davis Realty for the rest of her career.

A member of Calvary United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Friendship Circle, she also belonged to the Marion Business Women, Marion Board of Realtors and Bereaved Parents groups.

Maxine had been a "mother" to many of her children's friends in her earlier years. After becoming a widow, she became a "mother" again, renting rooms in her home to OSUM and MTC students. She loved cooking, gardening, children and animals and had a heart bigger than she was.

Surviving are 2 sons; Merle (Bev) Randolph of Marion and "Jack" (Diana) Randolph of Sylvania, her daughter; Dianne (William) O'Neil of Marion, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren
