Thomas "Winter" Spring
Birth: Feb. 22, 1795
Death: Aug. 20, 1851

British Bare-Knuckle Boxing Champion who fought between 1817-1824. His nickname of the "The Light Tapper" or "The Old Lady's Maid Fighter" was on account of his having weak hands, and thus unable to throw hard punches. However, his supreme boxing skills, tactical know-how and counter punching ability enabled him to become one of the best Champions of his era. He was elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1992. (bio by: Pluto)
