Mr. Schnell was born July 19, 1911, in Clay City, the son of Clarence Manley and Lillie May Travis Schnell. He married Gladys Gadget Pearl Turner and she preceded him in death January 14, 2004.
He had worked for Pure Oil as a foreman in Clay City for 25 years, and at Flora Bowling Alley, and had a paper route for the St. Louis Post newspaper.
He loved motorcycles and bowling and will be missed by all his friends and family.
Survivors include four nephews, Robert Bute, Jim McKnight, Bill McKnight and Keith McKnight; two nieces, Linda Sue Schnell Toetz and Patricia McKnight; and a sister-in-law, Mary Schnell.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, sister, Wilma Schnell Bute; and a brother, Edward Schnell.
Funeral services were held at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with burial in the Clay City Cemetery.
